Biggest Mistakes Every Tennis Player Make
Well, we have seen many players learned from their mistakes and succeeded in life. Every tennis player makes many mistakes when he starts up his career. One who can learn from the errors will always be successful in life or successful in his career. That why don't get disappointed when you have made mistakes, just the point is you have to learn from mistakes and try to be better next time.
There are many mistakes the players have done which are mentioned below.
The first mistake is that they never actually get to the non-volley zone. They are about 2 to 3 feet away from that kitchen line, but they think they are much closer than that. I often see people do is that they get to the front and then they back up to take a shot, but they never move forward again people get to the front, but they’re not entirely conscious about where their feet are, and they often will foot fault.
Continuously re-gripping can produce slips in the rackets. So the grip is gone and have chances of miss the shot. Re-gripping can cause lots of miss strikes. Also, it could be relocating the position of racket every time. This kind of habit may waste lots of time as well and as we know a 70% chance of miss shots. So we need to grip once in a game or we can re-grip after a half, and we should use the better gripping. So it cants let us change every time.
Topspin is the primary skill in the tennis, from which you can spin the ball and chance of his shot from your opponent. Lack of topspin can easily make you lose because if you don't know how to turn the ball, it will make it difficult for you to face your opponent. For maximum topspin use a semi-western or full western grip, although the eastern forehand grip can still generate a lot of spins. The simple principle remains come from below the balls contact point, brush up and over the ball, finish the follow through. Try to make the ball spin forwards.
Serves as the main thing in tennis. If you have no practice to help that the opponent will let you know. Sometimes we have seen opponent having many starting serves because you are losing the tosses every time. The opponent has the chance to straight strike on you if he is right in serves. There are many types of serves is tennis; people are always used to do the same serves, so that's why they can't understand what the opponent is doing.
6. Out of focusing:
Focusing is the primary key in the game, if we lose our focus on the game we will surely miss it. It is a habit if we ruin our practice then we can lose game very quickly. Once you out of focus the opponent will not give you a chance to remain the focus. Sometimes I have seen people those have no attention on the game and they were just time passing, so that kind of stuff will make you lose quickly.
7. Shot Selection:
While this is not a technical fault, shot selection is a skill that can be developed through an increased amount of match play, as well as coaching drills. An unforced error as the result of poor shot selection is one of the biggest reasons for lost points in tennis. Many players look to hit winners from completely wrong areas of the court.
Shot preparation entails finding the ideal court position, before adjusting your hitting stance after the split step. It doesn't matter about the level of your fitness, or your style of play is, a lack of recovery time is undoubtedly one of the biggest mistakes made by players in tennis. You should be aiming to step into your shots with your weight behind your stroke to hit the ball harder and earlier, as well as reducing your opponent’s reaction and recovery time.
9. Miss Hitting
Miss hitting happening way more frequently than you think and its okay because from beginner on up to Roger Federer, everybody miss hits shots but what not everybody knows is when it happens where it happens and what to do about it. That can cause lose the match and lose your attention, so it also causes you to miss the focus.
10. Weather and surface conditions
As straightforward as it might seem, the playing conditions have a huge impact on the game. This is why you should have a specific strategy for every game you play. When no outdoors, you can take your chances and play shots that are hard to pull off. But when you are outdoors, things like wind can affect the trajectory of your shots and can make balls come faster at you than on a usual day. For these reasons, you have to make adjustments to better adapt to the playing conditions.
